Superfruits Don’t Reduce Wrinkles - July 15th, 2009

Somebody told me the other day that they thought all the berry based juices were going to go under(such as noni, xango, and monavie), because they didn’t think the berries were actually more beneficial than a glass of orange juice.  That is not exactly true.  I mean I definitely don’t agree with all of the claims about some of them, but they are more beneficial than your glass of orange juice.  Advertising plays a big part.  I mean acai is one of the most hyped, but all things considered, mangosteen is actually more beneficial than acai, and the top 10 superfoods all put together trump any individual berry of course.  But when it comes to specifically their claims about wrinkles, it’s not true.  Interestingly enough, I’ve never seen a product that tried to push mangosteen as the ultimate wrinkle cure.  It would be more powerful in that capacity than acai, yet everybody focuses on acai.  This being said, don’t think for even a minute that I am saying that mangosteen could reduce wrinkles.  There is no superfruit or superfood in general that can reduce wrinkles.  However, mangosteen is a more powerful antioxidant with more proven capacities in general.  With antioxidants, they can fend off free radicals, thereby preventing wrinkles.  But this is something that apparently nobody thinks of, they just assume  that they have extra capabilities, which they don’t.
